Qualitative Senior Research Executive – Johannesburg – ASC Group

This is a senior support role. The main purpose being to ensure the smooth running of research projects from commissioning to final presentation. Client service also forms part of the role and SREs are expected to build a strong day to day working relationship with the clients their team services, actively contributing in meetings and presenting results on occasion. SREs are independent team members (sometimes with junior members reporting into them) and are expected to take charge of building their technical expertise by supporting and learning from their Account Manager.

Key result areas and key performance indicators:
Day-to-day client service
Development of proposals
Project management from brief though field and analysis
Analysis/reporting and presentation
Leadership and team responsibilities
Interpersonal and organisational performance
Travel to client meetings and fieldwork as and when required (may at times require local overnight and international travel)
Day-to-day involvement with client project (both ad hoc and tracking), including:
Attend client briefs with a senior member of the team and determine client needs in line with brief.
brainstorm proposals with regards to research design, costs and timing
develop individual job costs, monitor job costs throughout the project to ensure profitability (under supervision)
keep status sheet up to date with relevant details of each project, thus assisting in prioritising task to ensure deadlines are met
Administrative tasks involved with the job e.g. keeping track of time spent on tasks
Manage and monitor the research process checking and ensuring accuracy from:
Sample design
Questionnaire design
Fieldwork
Data checking
Charting and analysis
Interpretation and development of recommendations
Preparation of presentations of findings linking these back to the research objectives to ensure that these are met
First level analysis while starting to add more strategic elements to the analysis
Ensure that presentations are aesthetically pleasing and professional
Attend analysis forums with the team to gain broader insights and take responsibility for action and checking any amendments

Requirements
Undergraduate degree (B.Com, B.Soc Sci or B.Bus Sci.)
Four years’work experience at a research agency
Experience in tracking and ad-hoc research:
Good understanding of research methodologies and techniques to provide input into research design
Actively seek to understand methodologies that not familiar with
Branding experience or knowledge will be an advantage as would an FMCG background
Strong attention to detail and accuracy (oversee the production and delivery of quality outputs at all times)
Project management – take full ownership of projects with the end objective of ensuring smooth running of the logistics of accounts so that senior managers can focus on client servicing
Analytical ability with proven numeracy skills
Effective self management, managing projects with minimal supervision
Minimum one years’ experience on an SRE level
