Job description
Your position as digital product/project manager will require you to be a talented and skilled project manager with a well-developed understanding of product development in the online environment. You will not be required to have the technical skills for product development, but the ability to investigate product requirements, make a commercially sound business case for the product and manage the implementation.

Our publication pushes the envelope in terms of content and new digital technologies. We want to drive long-term partnerships with clients by providing an on-line platform that excels in its space.

Our festival is ranked as one of the top design events in the world and our online publication has achieved remarkable growth over the past two years and is rapidly become central to our growth as a brand, as a specialised publication providing access to an enviable base. Product development – www.designindaba.com
Working closely with the developer on design and UX development.
Understanding the information architecture of www.designindaba.com and making appropriate recommendations on the product.
Working with the marketing manager and developer in presenting the information architecture for the Design Indaba event (conference and festival).
Taking responsibility for the development, design and content management of the Design Indaba Festival app.
New products:

We are currently investigating new products we would like to role-out on DesignIndaba.com and we would like you to own the new products as follows:
Investigate the feasibility of new products
Prepare the business and commercial case for the product
Take responsibility for the roll-out of the product
International digital offerings:

We are in the process of launching international platforms. Part of your role will require the integration of the international requirements into our platform, while ensuring our representation and connection to the international platforms in the digital space.

The role will be a constantly evolving one as opportunities arise. So be flexbile in your approach, willing to learn, explore and grow with the product. In the new product development process you will be supported by the web developer, operations director, marketing manager and the editorial team.

Job requirements:
Previous digital experience.
An appropriate tertiary degree (business science, media and marketing with digital exposure).
Experience in working in a cross-functional team.
Strong analytical skills and understanding of financials.
Ability to manage and negotiate with external vendors and suppliers.
Flexible, adaptable and open to learning.
