To extract reliable, high quality data from accounting, information and operational systems as well as from monitoring business performance and compile and accurate and timely information and key recommendations for reporting and financial planning purposes.
•Diploma in Business Management (or equivalent)
•At least 2 Years experience report writing and presentation.
•At least 2 Years experience in a business analysis environment.
•Proficiency in the use of software applications, databases, spreadsheets, and financial data modelling, extraction and reporting

Key Performance Areas:
Internal process and systems effectiveness
•Provide analytical data in support of 1 – 2 year financial planning requirements and reporting (i.e. budgets, forecasts, etc).
•Continuously search for new reporting processes, data extraction techniques or data hygiene programs that will enhance reporting and performance analysis for MTN.
•Take the initiative to find new data extraction opportunities that could increase effectiveness of financial reporting.
•Liaise with IS and provide input to opportunities to update and optimize data extraction user interfaces.
•Recommend changes based on the analysis of the trends and patterns identified in the real-time operational performance data.
Analysis of data
•Maintain financial planning management information system processes.
•Maintain financial planning and associated calendars, continuously updating them as and when provisional dates are confirmed.
•Measure performance against calendar and highlighting delays of where potential issues arise.
•Design and maintain a prioritization log for all queries / requests made to the Financial Planning and Reporting environment.
•Update and upload tools for month-end for the analysis of financial data, sourcing, receiving and reviewing functional and technical data and information.
•Extract, define and interpret relevant information for determining past financial performance and/or projecting financial probabilities.
•Assess the implication of new technology and products against existing report and data specifications.
•Use various software applications, models and tools to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and/or reports.
•Continually validate the definition of data against other sources such as marketing reporting to ensure that Finance reports are interpreted correctly by users.
•Assess current data sources available and find new and additional data and make these available to analysts to support projects.
•Liaise with IS to gather all required support for data extraction for reporting purposes.
•Liaise with MTN Group Finance in order to complete business & financial planning requirements.
Reporting of data
•Ensure completeness of all reporting requirements (Monthly, Quarterly, Interim and Final Period).
•Prepare and review presentation information and documents for the Board, Exco, etc in line with Executive: FDO and GM: FPA requirements.
•Ensure timeous update of the optimization tool (consolidation).
•Ensure completeness of ad hoc requests and/or projects.
•Consolidate and draft financial and management monthly reporting and have these approved.
•Complete designs for reports and have these authorised before handing them over for development or continuing with developing them.
•Develop reports for forecasting, trending, and results analysis.
•Interpret financial transactions and events for users who need to make economic or business decisions.
•Perform data analysis on reports used by the department to identify the best source of input data.
•Assist team members with the specification and design changes to existing reports.
Problem Identification and Resolution
•Proactively identify potential problems that could arise in reporting processes.
•Follow clear and linear procedures to diagnose and solve problems that are not always obvious, tailoring solutions to suit various problems.
•Take action to prevent the reoccurrence of problems.
•Understand the nature and scope of needs and requirements and provide value adding data and reports.
•Provide information to customers on request.
•Act on requests for new reports, looking for ways extract the data required from various systems.
