TECHNICAL SALES SPECIALIST: CONSUMER CARE / FOOD AND BEVERAGE – Omnia Holdings Limited – Eastern Cape

Overview
Contacts assigned customer accounts or prospects to sell company products within a designated geography or industry (Consumer Care / Food and Beverage). Focuses on meeting personal sales targets, new business development, maintaining customer relationships, and troubleshooting specific customer problems. Has a solid knowledge of products, their characteristics, and market. Typically requires a good general education, excellent interpersonal skills and sales experience. Increase profit contribution and loyalty from business with key customers.

Qualifications
Grade 12/Matric.
University / Post Graduate Degree – Chemistry/ Coschem/ Food

Experience
6-10 Years relevant work experience in a chemistry/food/consumer care environment.

Duties
Negotiate prices or terms of sales or service agreements.
Prepare and submit sales contracts for orders.
Visit establishments to evaluate needs or to promote product or service sales.
Understanding of technical / specialities within Consumer Care / Food is essential.
Maintain customer records, using automated systems.
Answer customers questions about products, prices, availability, or credit terms.
Quote prices, credit terms, or other bid specifications.
Contact new or existing customers to discuss how specific products or services can meet their needs.
Demonstrate the operation or use of technical or scientific products.
Provide feedback to product design teams so that products can be tailored to client’s needs.
Select or assist customers in selecting products based on customer needs, product specifications, and applicable regulations.
Prepare sales presentations or proposals to explain product specifications or applications.
Complete expense reports, sales reports, or other paperwork.
Verify that delivery schedules meet project deadlines.
Identify prospective customers using business directories, leads from existing clients, participation in organizations, or trade show or conference attendance.
Arrange for installation and testing of products.
Inform customers of estimated delivery schedules, service contracts, warranties, or other information pertaining to purchased products.
Provide customers with ongoing technical support.
Collaborate with colleagues to exchange information, such as selling strategies or marketing information.
Advise customers on product usage to improve production.
Verify customer credit ratings.
Verify accuracy of materials lists.
