DEPUTY DIRECTOR: FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING (SALARIES, TRAVEL AND SUBSISTENCE CLAIMS),

SALARY : R630 822 per annum (excluding benefits)

CENTRE : Pretoria

REQUIREMENTS : National Diploma/B degree in Accounting/Financial Management. 3 – 5 years
managerial experience in financial administration. Extensive knowledge and
working experience regarding standardised financial management systems
such as BAS and PERSAL. Computer literacy in terms of MS Office, such as
MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power point and GroupWise. Extensive knowledge
of staff claims such as Travel and Subsistence, administration and the tax
implication. Extensive knowledge and understanding of the PFMA and the
Treasury Regulations. Applied strategic thinking, planning and organizing
project management, diversity management. Continuous improvement of
processes, problem solving and decision making, client orientation and
customer focus with exceptional interpersonal skills. Well-developed verbal
and written communication skills.

DUTIES : Assist with the formulation of internal controls, monitor and assure compliance
with control functions as contained in Finance Regulations, Treasury
Regulations and other related legislation. People management and
development of sub ordinates. Financial management input regarding
financial planning and policies. Business and project planning iro business
plan and management of business unit. Management of general accounting
activities such as reconciliations and clearance of suspense accounts.
Financial reporting such as operational, performance and financial reports,
inclusive of related annual report inputs. Ensure the accurate and timeous
submission of relevant financial statement inputs as per the prescribed
prescripts. Management and oversight of salary payments and related
functions. Management and oversight of tax monthly, bi-annual and annual
tax reconciliations and other related functions. Management and oversight of
all staff claims. Follow up and attending to all PERSAL exception and
applicable PERSAL reports Perform PERSAL Controller- and related
functions. Management and oversight of payroll reconciliation actions.
